OUR LAST COURSE - Updated 7/12
The SaveTheEats initiative was launched on March 30th, 2020 with a mission to help drive revenue to restaurants during their COVID-19 closures. (read the whole backstory here)
Spanning 100 days of operations, we have driven an estimated $2 Million in revenue to establishments spanning eight cities stemming from the original SavePhillyEats site. As of July 12th, many of the restaurants in our markets have reopened or shifted to a takeout model so we have decided to sunset our daily operations. We know the restaurant industry isn’t out of the woods yet, but we’re all going to continue to lend our hands in different ways. We hope everyone else does too.
We’re very proud of what we accomplished in such a short period of time and we’re appreciative of all the patrons and food-fans who opened their hearts and wallets to help their favorite establishments generate revenue in this truly uncertain time.
We’d like to specifically thank the many chefs, restaurateurs and hospitality industry folks who helped us connect with other influential people and businesses in the space during their own time of need. Chef / Restauranteurs Marc Vetri, Jen Carroll, Jeff Benjamin and Billy Riddle get special thanks for being amazing champions of this effort.
We’d also like to thank our key service partners (Grimm & Grove Communications, Thrive Commerce, PHL Branding, Seer Interactive), contractors and the greater business community that offered their time, talent or products for free or at a reduced rate. They were much needed leverage to get this project off the ground and in front of customers quickly and cost efficiently.
Lastly, this initiative could never have had its national reach and expanded impact without the dedication and time of our city leaders and team members who volunteered to do something selfless during others’ time of need. They are as follows:

How it Works
#SaveTheEats brings together local chefs, bars, clubs and the people who love them. We collect, publish and amplify unique experiences, offers and opportunities that provide much-needed revenue to the businesses that need it most.
We work with a team of like-minded locals to set up a #SaveTheEats community and web site in their city.
Unique local experiences, offers and opportunities are published and amplified via public relations, social media, digital advertising and more.
100% of every purchase supplies much-needed revenue directly to businesses – we never touch money or take a commission.
